Description

Position Overview

At IDEA, we believe excellent school leaders are key to ensuring scholars receive a world-class education. Driven by this belief, in this role you will develop new successor principals to ensure they meet driving goals and choose to remain in the principalship beyond their first year. To achieve this mission, you will partner with regional principal managers and the national Schools Team to:

  • Design and facilitate the Successor Principals Academy to prepare future principals for success in their first year.
  • Provide in-field coaching and support for high-priority successor principals at the request of the region.
  • Build the capacity of regional teams to hire, onboard, develop and retain high-performing successor principals.
  • Leverage in-field coaching experience and regional partnerships to identify best practices and common pitfalls across regions, then use this insight to inform the design of future Successor Principals Academy trainings.

By doing this, you will ensure all regions have a strong bench of future principals who are prepared to lead existing IDEA schools, while at the same time supporting our current successor principals so that they achieve their driving goals and choose to remain in the principalship.

This is an immediate opening for a full-time, grant-funded role based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate. This role is funded through September 2023 with possibility of extension upon grant completion.
