Communications at IDEA Public Schools

The Communications department is comprised of three teams: Marketing, Communications and Creatives Services (MCC). Together they support the critical areas of student and staff recruitment, internal, external and digital communications, publications, events, brand management and creative design.

 

       Marketing – strategic marketing campaigns and paid advertising for staff and student recruitment efforts

       Communications

  • Internal – student and staff communications and publications
  • External – public relations, media, family, and crisis communications
  • Digital – data tracking, social media, website and blog content, web monitoring and reporting

       Creative Services – brand management, graphic design, digital and print design, videography

 

 

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Videographer to join our national Marketing, Communications, and Creative Services (MCC) team. This is a full-time, hybrid position (generally 2-3 onsite days and 1-2 flex remote/in field days per week).

 

As the videographer, you will support the work of Team MCC by stewarding IDEA’s brand through the conceptualization, production, and editing of IDEA video projects for multiple delivery channels, and capturing still photography of IDEA students, teachers, and staff for use in marketing material throughout the year. You will work closely with members of the Marketing, Communications and Creative teams, including the Chief Communications Officer and department leads to tell IDEA’s story and that of other departmental success, plus all other duties as assigned. This role is for a great visual storyteller, who knows the latest trends in media and can adapt quickly between traditional and new media. The videographer works on the MCC team and reports to the Multimedia Video Production Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

In partnership with many throughout the organization, the videographer will tell the IDEA story through video and photography. This includes, but is not limited to the conceptualization, scripting, filming, and editing of the following videos:

  • Brand
  • A brand commercial
  • Multi-channel brand videos and promotions
  • Recruitment
  • Teacher Recruitment
  • Student Recruitment commercials
  • Day in the Life videos for both
  •  
  • Events
  • College Signing Day
  • Back to School Bash
  • As assigned
  • Grants
  • As assigned
  • Assist in planning the logistics for the varying video shoots keeping campus testing calendars in mind.
  • Participate in the creative review process with manager and key stakeholders

 

MULTI-MEDIUM CAMPAIGNS:

  • Conceptualize video to support campaigns and events
  • Partnering with our Advancement team on fundraising events
  • Collaborate with the different areas of the marketing department, as well as other departments

within the organization­­­

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $50,500 and $59,600, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based team performance and goal attainment.

Required experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience required
  • 2-5 years’ experience in video production
  • Must include a link to portfolio displaying a variety of video work
  • Video production and editing skills using Adobe Premier Premier Pro and After Effects

(Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator a plus but not necessary)

  • Preferred experience in Marketing and Communications field
  • Preferred experience with Wrike project management software
  • Bilingual preferred

 

 

Individual goals

  • Achieve 90% customer satisfaction by surveying business partners
  • Complete quarterly audits of still photography photo bank ensuring 85% of the image bank is current, and amplifies diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ensure 100% of MCC video and still photography equipment match beginning of year inventory with end of year inventory
  • Achieve 30% or higher new student application conversion rate with production of video and still photography
  • Ensure 100% of projects are complete on time and under budget
