Communications at IDEA Public Schools

The Communications department is comprised of three teams: Marketing, Communications and Creatives Services (MCC). Together they support the critical areas of student and staff recruitment, internal, external and digital communications, publications, events, brand management and creative design.


  • Marketing – strategic marketing campaigns and paid advertising for staff and student recruitment efforts
  • Communications
    • Internal – student and staff communications and publications
    • External – public relations, media, family, and crisis communications
    • Digital – data tracking, social media, website and blog content, web monitoring and reporting
  • Creative Services – brand management, graphic design, digital and print design, videography



Position Overview:

We are looking for a Project and Production Manager to join our national Marketing, Communications, and Creative Services (MCC) team. This is a full-time position located in any IDEA Texas region.  


As the Project and Production Manager (PPM), you will support the work of Team MCC by acting as the main point of contact for external vendor and internal business partners while overseeing the successful completion of projects, distribution strategies, and facilitation of the intake of all MCC project requests. The PPM will manage and follow up with requesters to determine assets needed, timeline, budgets and project facilitation from kickoff to completion.


PPM tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Liaison with external vendors in seeking quotes for services
  • Management of production and distribution timelines
  • Manage team members to keep projects on track
  • Participate in project design meetings
  • Provide updates on projects to clients

Team MCC projects includes but are not limited to:

  • Marketing – Brand Folder assets, BOG Box distribution, Welcome to IDEA packet production and distribution
  • Communications IMPACT magazine distribution, Back to School mailers, and pop-up mailers as needed
  • Creative Services – WRIKE requests intake, reporting, tracking and satisfaction surveys



Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $66,600 and $80,600, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on divisional performance and goal attainment.

Required experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years’ experience in project management
  • Preferred experience in Marketing and Communications field
  • Preferred experience with Wrike project management software
  • Bilingual preferred

  • 100% of WRIKE requests submitted are trafficked to the appropriate team/team members
  • Ensure 100% of projects are completed on time
  • Ensure 100% of projects are complete on or under budget
