College Success Intern

 

 

Role Mission:

 

IDEA Public Schools’ vision is to become the largest producer of low-income college graduates. As a leading charter organization, IDEA Public Schools is on track to make this vision a reality. The College Success Intern is responsible for supporting administrative and logistical components of initiatives throughout the school year.  The intern will build an automated system for quality Great College List rating, and support administrative process of quality applications and staffing experience.

  • 25 hours per week

 

Location:

This is a part-time remote position with occasional on-site requirements based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in the Rio Grand Valley, or who are willing to relocate.

 

 

What You’ll Do Accountabilities

 

In this role you will:

  1. 100% of Great College Lists will be rated 3+
  • Create tools to support the research, creation, and rating of Great College Lists
  • Track completion of GCL ratings and follow up on fidelity to feedback and submission

 

2.   100% applications for Tier 1 students will be rated Proficient

  • Support the contracting and payment process of external reviewers
  • Plan and organize the collection and rating of applications.
  • Liaison between College Counseling Teams and external reviewers

 

3. 100% of Acceptance Evidence will meet standard of proof for Class of 2024

  • Track and manage towards 100% of acceptance evidence submission
  • Lead communication and follow up to ensure evidence meets standard of proof
  • Create and organize virtual folders for collection of evidence

 

4. 85% Retention of Directors of College Counseling, College Counselors, and Regional Directors of College Success

  • Organize a culture of achievement, recognition, and joy
  • Support with logistical aspect of select senior initiatives

 

5. 100% of Matriculation Evidence will meet standard of proof for Class of 2023

  • Track and manage towards 100% of matriculation evidence submission
  • Lead communication and follow up to ensure evidence meets standard of proof

Required experience:

  • High School Diploma, associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate of $10 per hour.
