Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Role Mission:
IDEA Public Schools works to ensure the success of all students and to address any barriers which may impact students from achieving incredible academic and social outcomes. The Speech Language Pathologist- Assistant under the supervision of a Certified Speech Language Pathologist, key members of the Special Programs team partner with regional instructional leaders, a portfolio of campus leaders, and teachers to maximize student outcomes.
The Speech Language Pathologist – Assistant (SLPA) sets ambitious goals for IDEA student achievement and invests in students and families in accomplishing them. S/he will create a powerful learning environment and deliver purposeful therapy in order to close gaps in communication and academic skills. S/he will provide therapeutic intervention as designated by his/her supervising Speech Language Pathologist in the area of communication disorders, track student progress towards goals, and join the multidisciplinary team to ensure students’ academic success. S/he will seek excellence as an educator and an IDEA team member.
The SLPA reports directly to the regional Lead SLP. This role involves some minor travel between assigned campuses.
This is a general pool requisition for future vacancies as they arise in the region.

This is a full-time on-site position located in Houston. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $61,700 and $71,000, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
