Purchasing Clerk – Corporate Card

 

Role Mission

 

The Corporate Card Purchasing Clerk role is responsible for ensuring compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement for internal stakeholders to meet the needs of campuses and departments across the organization. This role will support and advance the goals of all entities across IDEA Public Schools compliance and best practices as outlined in state regulations by reviewing and verifying the accuracy of travel and business-related expenses.

 

What You’ll Do - Accountabilities

 

Essential Duties:

  • Correction of the SAE (Standard Accounting Extract) file for Tyler Munis import.
  • Daily collaboration with the Corporate Card Manager regarding corporate card and travel controls.
  • Effectively communicate organizational knowledge, budget and financial capacity to persons holding a fiduciary role within the organization.
  • Ensure Concur expense reports are thoroughly reviewed within 2 business days.
  • Ensure correct account coding is accurate as per Financial Accountability System Resource Guide (FASRG) and audit standards.
  • Monitor Standard Account Extract data reports daily to make certain payments are processed quickly and accurately.
  • Perform internal control assessments required to identify inconsistencies within organizational policies.
  • Provide continuous improvement by attending and engaging in weekly Finance Team tactical to establish appropriate communication and support related to operational controls, policy changes and updates.
  • Provide exceptional support and communication to end-users.
  • Support and commence appropriate next steps to resolve any Concur user issues within a timely manner.
  • Support the development of Finance Teams in meeting financial objectives through internal development and resources, observation, and continuous, real-time coaching.
  • Support end-users navigate the procurement process in alignment with Corporate Card Policy and internal controls.
  • Related work duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.

  • Possess numerate skills; able to understand and work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner.

Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2+ Clerical experience and accounting, preferably in education
  • Licenses or Certifications (if applicable): N/A

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $18.48/hour and $23.11/hour, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
