Role Mission: In 2024-25, IDEA Public Schools will serve more than 90,000 students at 147 schools across 11 regions in four states—Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Cincinnati. IDEA Public Schools is searching for an Assistant Director of Enrollment to lead a team—at the campus, regional, and national levels—to drive enrollment across the entire network and to build support structures and resources for internal and external stakeholders. The Assistant Director of Enrollment will develop innovative, successful, and sustainable recruitment and enrollment strategies to support IDEA’s growth plan as well as provide data analyses required to support strategic decision-making. They will serve as the national expert charged with achieving key objectives in the areas of the annual student enrollment cycle and professional development of recruiters. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and expertise leading in these areas across multiple regions and/or states, along with the ability to create and implement a vision for enrollment, policies that reflect the network’s core values, and appropriate targets. Furthermore, they will design a program that maximizes and prioritizes a student’s and family’s experience throughout the enrollment cycle and through the first weeks of school by influencing, coaching, and developing leaders throughout our organization in support of our mission of 100% College for All. The Assistant Director of Enrollment will report directly to the Director of Enrollment of Field Operations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly manage National Student Recruitment Enrollment Manager and Regional Enrollment Managers, including onboarding, goal setting, accountability, and development.

 

Location: This is a full-time (remote/on-site) position based in (Texas) with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

 

Travel Expectations: Ability to travel up to 40% of the time by plane and/or car during the busiest parts of the year. This includes a rotating schedule that would include evenings and weekends. 

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

 

Essential Duties:

  • Plan, direct, and set the strategic direction of year-round student recruitment and enrollment.
  • Analyze KPIs and use data insights to course correct, drive direct-response plans, and implement quarterly enrollment interventions.
  • Design and develop high-quality professional development sessions to train and coach National Student Recruitment and Enrollment Managers and Regional Enrollment Managers on effective delivery and facilitation of professional development.
  • Monitor the enrollment program to ensure compliance with state requirements and caps.
  • Audit the district rolling enrollment and application nurturing process.
  • Lead aspects of a new family onboarding process for new students.
  • Provide ongoing feedback on recruitment and enrollment plans.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain an in-person presence for the enrollment team.
  • Define and transform the district’s enrollment philosophy.
  • Oversee National Student Recruitment and Enrollment Managers on effective delivery and facilitation of professional development.
  • Partner with regional leaders to interview and hire the strongest candidates for Regional Director of Operations, Assistant Principal of Operations, and Student Enrollment Coordinator vacancies.
  • Designing, evaluating, and improving existing policies and procedures.
  • Interpreting and communicating state charter and enrollment requirements.
  • Achieving quantifiable results through commitment, personal responsibility, and accountability.

 Required experience:

·           Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or other advanced degree in relevant field preferred. 

·           Licenses or Certifications: None 

·           At least 4 years of professional experience 

·           At least 2 years of people management experience with at least 1 year of managing through layers within an organization.

 

 Preferred experience:

·           2 years of student recruitment-related leadership experience, with experience leading across multiple regions highly preferred 

·           K-12 education experience highly preferred 

·           Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.  

 

 Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • The ability to work in extreme weather.
  • Bending, crawling, stooping, standing, vision, lifting, walking.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $81,889-$95,810, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
