Role Mission: The Selection Team Intern will support the Selection Coordinators in the initial stages of screening IDEA’s talent pipeline. The intern will assist in implementing a standardized, high-quality selection process to pre-screen candidates for final interviews at schools. By providing administrative support, the intern will help prioritize the highest-quality candidates, enabling talent managers and staffing team members to act swiftly in selecting top candidates and filling vacancies. The intern will manage data entry and accuracy within the applicant tracking system (Jobvite), ensure screening notes are precise, respond to candidate emails promptly, and facilitate communication with regional business partners to support the hiring process. This role offers an opportunity to learn about the selection process and gain valuable experience in talent acquisition. 
  
Location: This is a part-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth). 
  
What We Offer 
  
Compensation: Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate of $11/hour (15-20 hours weekly).

Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, interpersonal skills 
  • Track record of learning new systems and content quickly and rapidly demonstrating proficiency 
  • High degree of professionalism, maturity, and confidentiality 
  • Proficient in use of technology, including Microsoft Office 
  • Strong ability to implement feedback 
  
Required Experience: 
  • Education: Currently enrollment in an undergraduate degree course of study; 48 hours of college credit preferred 
  
Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. 
 
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities 
  
In this role you will: 
  
  • Manage all New applications within Jobvite for your assigned regions 
  • New applications are screened within 1 business day of application submission 
  • New applications have documented notes that follow the standardized process of highlighting the highest leverage points within the application so that talent managers and staffing teams get a thorough snapshot of each candidate 
  • On average, move candidates to the regional hiring team within 4 days or less of applied date 
  • Provide a signature, candidate experience for all internal and external candidates 
  • Ensure all candidates receive final communication about their application status 
  • Respond to candidate emails within 48 business hours
