What is IDEA Public Schools? 

IDEA Public Schools believes that each and every child can go to college. Since 2001, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a small school with 150 students to the fastest-growing network of tuition-free, Pre-K-12 public charter schools in the United States. Currently, the network serves more than 46,000 college-bound students in 79 schools across seven Texas regions and Louisiana. What does the Human Assets Team do? 

The Human Assets Team is responsible for recruiting, selecting, as well as retaining high quality teachers and leaders to IDEA. For the upcoming 22-23 school year, our Staffing and Recruitment team will recruit over 1200 applicants and hire new teachers and leaders for our growing and launching campuses. During the school year, we will be working to cultivate brand awareness and build community relationships. 

What will our amazing new HA Intern do? 

Our HA Intern will become an integral part of the Rio Grande Valley Talent Aquisition Team through the following:
  • Daily outreach/sourcing to prospective candidates about IDEA (ex: Indeed, LinkedIn, Handshake)
  • Recruitment support at events (ex: University Job Fairs, Community events)
  • Support regional professional development events (event logistics, preparation, break-down)
  • Job posting maintenance on career and college websites
  • Data updates on recruitment, hiring, and retention for the RGV region (ex: Excel)
  • Managing recruitment and hiring logistics (ex. printing, filing, material prep, registrations, business transactions)
Things we would like to see:
  • Comfortable presenting to groups or conducting outreach
  • Organized and detail oriented; bias towards taking action
  • Experience with social media networks a plus (Tik-Tok, Facebook, Instragram, LinkedIn, Indeed,etc) 
  • Highly proficient with the use of computer, web and mobile technology
  • Excellent phone communication skills: clear/personable/enthusiastic

Qualifications:
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Passion for working for underserved communities
  • Able to commit to working 30 hours/week
  • At least 48 hours complete of college coursework
